- Power outages switching
- Managing network balancing and reliability
- Monitoring and controlling power systems to maintain a constant and reliable power supply
- Responding to power outages and system failures, coordinating repair teams as necessary
- Managing load dispatch functions and maintaining load flow
- Implementing emergency operations procedures during power outages or system emergencies
- Developing and implementing isolation and switching programs
- Developing and implementing contingency plans for power network
