The Role

We are seeking a motivated and analytically minded Economic Consulting Intern to join our team on a remote basis. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands on experience in economic and regulatory consulting while working alongside experienced professionals on real client projects. The successful candidate will support research, data analysis, report preparation, and wider project delivery activities across a range of consulting engagements. This role is ideally suited to students or recent graduates with strong analytical skills and an interest in economics, policy, infrastructure, regulation, or consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct economic, regulatory, and policy research using public and proprietary sources
  • Support quantitative and qualitative analysis for client projects
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials
  • Analyse datasets using Excel and other analytical tools
  • Review consultation papers, regulatory submissions, and market reports
  • Support project teams with literature reviews, benchmarking, and evidence gathering
  • Participate in internal meetings, workshops, and project discussions
  • Contribute to business development and thought leadership activities where appropriate

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements

  • Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a remote working environment

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, R, Stata, or Power BI
  • Understanding of economic regulation, competition economics, or public policy
  • Previous internship or research experience
  • Interest in infrastructure, utilities, sustainability, or public sector economics
