Are you an experienced Environmental Manager looking to make a real impact on the UK’s transition to renewable energy? We are seeking a skilled professional to lead environmental compliance and sustainability efforts on a high-profile infrastructure project supporting a major offshore wind farm.

About the Role

This role involves managing environmental compliance and sustainability on a large-scale substation construction project linked to a major offshore wind farm in the Southern North Sea. The project includes extensive earthworks, road and junction improvements, reinforced concrete structures, and steel-framed superstructures, all contributing to the delivery of clean, renewable energy to the National Grid.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee compliance with BS EN ISO 14001 and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and manage environmental data (water, dust, noise, waste) using specialized equipment.
  • Conduct site inspections and report on environmental performance.
  • Implement and audit the Project Environmental Management System.
  • Investigate and report environmental incidents, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Prepare monthly environmental reports for stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement mitigation measures for environmental risks.
  • Maintain and update the Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and key stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Extensive experience in environmental management within civil engineering, construction, or consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental design, impact assessments, and risk mitigation.
  • Membership with IEMA (Chartered or Practitioner Level preferred).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with project teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
