Yard Assistant / Operative required by a large well-established independent timber and builders’ merchant based in Frome. Salary negotiable depending on skills and experience. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Assistant to join our team at our Frome branch. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for maintaining the yard, organising stock, and providing excellent service to our customers. The role involves handling building materials and ensuring smooth yard operations to support the wider team.

Role:

  • Organise and maintain stock in the yard.
  • Ensure that orders are ready for collection or delivery.
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and moving materials around the yard.
  • Support the sales team by providing accurate stock information.
  • Ensure the yard is clean, safe, and well-organised at all times.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of building materials is helpful but not essential.
