A leading credit fund is exploring an investment analyst hire into its liquid credit investment team in London at the Associate or Vice President level.

The team manages a large portfolio of leveraged loans and bonds across multiple CLO and liquid credit vehicles, running a fundamental credit process with an active trading overlay. The platform is a regular issuer in both the US and European markets.

The role

  • Analyse leveraged loan opportunities across primary and secondary markets for inclusion across the CLO portfolio
  • Underwrite new issue and secondary credits - building and maintaining financial models with a focus on cash flow, leverage, liquidity, and covenant headroom
  • Review credit agreements and loan documentation, assessing relative value and structural protections
  • Monitor portfolio positions across the CLO vehicles - tracking earnings, refinancings, ratings migrations, and technical developments
  • Support portfolio management decisions with written credit work and direct recommendations to the senior team
  • Develop familiarity with CLO structural mechanics - compliance tests, reinvestment criteria, concentration limits, and trading constraints

Background

Three to seven years of experience in leveraged credit. The team is open on background: leveraged finance, direct lending, broadly syndicated loan research, credit research on either the buy or sell side, or ratings. What matters is the ability to underwrite a credit independently, work through documentation, and produce clear written analysis.

Team and structure

A well-established CLO platform with long-tenured senior portfolio managers and a consistent track record of issuance across credit cycles. The analyst works directly with the portfolio managers, coverage broadens quickly, and there is exposure to both the investment and structural side of the business.
