We are representing a highly regarded trading platform seeking an experienced Convertible Bond Trader to join the team at Senior Associate or VP level. The role offers broad exposure across global convertible bond markets, working closely with a highly respected Portfolio Management team and sitting within an exceptional, research-driven investment team.
Experience Profile
- 5-10 years' experience trading convertible bonds in a buy-side or sell-side environment
- Experience in at least one major market (US, Europe, Asia, or Australia); international converts exposure strongly preferred
Core Responsibilities
- Trade convertible bonds across global markets in support of portfolio objectives
- Execute strategies across convertible arbitrage, relative value, and selective directional trades
- Support a highly regarded Portfolio Manager through idea generation, trade implementation, and risk management
- Generate investment ideas via deep fundamental, valuation, and capital structure analysis
- Actively participate in primary market / ECM activity, including new issue evaluation and deal analysis
- Manage and monitor risk across strategies, regions, and instruments
Required Skill Set
- Strong understanding of investment grade, high yield, and special situations convertible bond markets
- Deep knowledge of convertible bond structures, pricing, and hedging techniques
- Proven capital structure expertise, assessing relative value across equity, converts, straight credit, and derivatives
- Strong fundamental and research-driven approach to investment decision-making
- Embedded within an exceptional research team with a strong fundamental culture
- Close collaboration with PMs, analysts, risk, and ECM counterparts
- Environment that values intellectual rigour, disciplined risk-taking, and collaborative idea generation
- High-quality seat supporting a notable portfolio management team
