We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant General Manager to join the leadership team of a high-end luxury restaurant in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior hospitality professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and is passionate about exceptional guest experiences, team development, and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless and exceptional service.
  • Take a hands-on leadership approach across the restaurant floor, particularly during high-volume services.
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing front-of-house team.
  • Maintain the highest standards of service, presentation, hospitality, and grooming.
  • Support operational planning, staffing, rotas, labour management, and overall business performance.
  • Take ownership of the restaurant in the General Manager's absence, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development across the team.
  • Work closely with senior management to drive operational improvements and commercial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, licensing, and company standards.

ABOUT YOU

  • Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager within a high-volume luxury restaurant, or as a General Manager within a smaller-volume, high-end restaurant.
  • Proven experience managing and developing large, high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of luxury hospitality and exceptional service standards.
  • Commercially aware, with experience supporting budgets, labour, and restaurant performance.
  • A confident, hands-on leader who is highly visible on the floor.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and people-management skills.
  • Calm and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ambitious, driven, and passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.
