Financials Credit Trader – Buy Side

We are representing a leading investment firm on an exciting hire. The platform has an exceptional track record in the global credit markets, and is seeking a Financials Credit Trader/Investor to join its London based team. There is flexibility on the seniority level for this seat, and they are considering both financials credit traders (buy and sell side), as well as financials credit investment professionals, and desk analysts.

The role offers broad exposure across the capital structure of banks, insurers, and specialty finance, with responsibility for idea generation, fundamental and RV analysis, and involvement in both primary and secondary market opportunities. You’ll work closely with an experienced investment team and contribute to the continued build-out of the firm’s financials credit platform.

Responsibilities

• Investing and trading financial institution debt across AT1s, RT1s, LT2s, seniors, covered bonds, CDS, etc.
• Monitoring macro and regulatory developments and integrating them into investment views
• Utilising fundamental and relative value analysis, as well as hedging for the long/short credit strategy
• Supporting trade construction, execution, and ongoing portfolio monitoring
• Bringing forward new ideas and helping shape the evolving financials strategy

Qualifications

• 4+ year background in financials credit (buy side or sell side)
• Strong modelling skills and comfort with fundamental and relative value analysis
• Good understanding of regulatory frameworks for global financial institutions
• Experience working with or alongside trading desks is a plus
• Entrepreneurial, curious, collaborative, and commercially minded
