We are representing a leading investment firm with an exceptional track record in global credit markets, which is looking to hire a Financials Credit professional to join its London-based team. The platform offers flexibility on seniority and is open to candidates from both the buy side and sell side, including traders, investors, and desk analysts with a strong focus on financial institutions. This role provides broad exposure across the capital structure of banks, insurers, and specialty finance companies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for idea generation, fundamental and relative value analysis, and participation in both primary and secondary market opportunities. You will work closely with an experienced investment team and play a meaningful role in the continued build‑out of the firm’s financials credit platform.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Demonstrable experience in financials credit, on either the buy side or sell side, in a trading, research or portfolio management role
  • Strong financial modelling skills and comfort with both fundamental and relative value analysis
  • Senior Associate or VP+ level
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks affecting global financial institutions
  • Experience working with, or closely alongside, trading desks is advantageous
  • Entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, collaborative, and commercially minded
Role Responsibilities
  • Invest and trade financial institution debt across AT1s, RT1s, LT2s, senior unsecured, covered bonds, CDS, and related instruments
  • Monitor macroeconomic, regulatory, and idiosyncratic developments and integrate them into investment views
  • Apply fundamental and relative value analysis within a long/short credit framework, including the use of hedging strategies
  • Support trade construction, execution, and ongoing portfolio monitoring
  • Generate new investment ideas and contribute to the evolution of the financials credit strategy
