Architect / Senior Architect – Glasgow – MOD Projects

A rare opportunity has opened for an Architect or Senior Architect to join a long‑established Glasgow practice delivering some of the UK’s most technically demanding and strategically important MOD projects.

If you’re motivated by complex briefs, secure environments, and the chance to design buildings that genuinely matter, this role offers the perfect blend of challenge, responsibility, and long‑term career growth.

Why This Role Stands Out

Work on high‑security, defence‑related schemes where precision, innovation, and technical excellence are essential.

Join a collaborative team with decades of experience across defence, commercial, education, and public‑sector work.

You’ll be trusted with responsibility from day one — shaping concepts, leading packages, and engaging directly with clients and stakeholders.

Whether you’re newly chartered or an experienced Senior Architect, you’ll have a clear pathway to broaden your technical, managerial, and leadership skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and contributing to MOD and defence‑sector projects from concept through delivery
  • Producing high‑quality technical drawings, specifications, and coordinated design packages
  • Working closely with multi‑disciplinary teams, consultants, and secure‑site stakeholders
  • Navigating complex compliance requirements, including JSP standards and defence protocols
  • Supporting junior team members and contributing to a positive, knowledge‑sharing culture

What We’re Looking For

  • ARB‑registered Architect (or equivalent experience for Senior level)
  • Strong technical capability and confidence working on detailed design
  • Experience in secure, defence, public‑sector, or highly regulated environments (desirable but not essential)
  • Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows
  • A proactive, organised, and collaborative approach
  • Eligibility for security clearance

What’s on Offer

  • ÂŁ38,000 – ÂŁ45,000 aligned with experience
  • Hybrid working options
  • Support for professional development and specialist training
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio beyond defence work
  • A friendly, down‑to‑earth Glasgow team that values quality, trust, and long‑term relationships
