Director of Property

Our client is a central-belt based Housing Association and they are seeking an interim Director of Property.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this interim appointment will provide strategic leadership and operational control across all property services.

You’ll be responsible for delivering a first‑class, customer‑focused property management service, ensuring compliance, driving performance, and strengthening the organisation’s asset management approach.

This is a pivotal role requiring an experienced housing professional who can quickly stabilise a busy department, support staff, and ensure services meet legislative, regulatory and best‑practice standards.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Significant senior experience in housing association or local authority property services.
  • Strong knowledge of repairs, maintenance, compliance and asset management legislation.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage contractors and deliver high‑quality services.
  • Skilled in budget management, procurement, contract administration and performance reporting.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and strategic planning abilities.
  • Professional qualification (e. g., CIOB, RICS).
  • Experience preparing investment plans and managing stock condition data.

You’ll be stepping into a leadership role that directly impacts tenant safety, service quality and long‑term asset sustainability.

Your expertise will help stabilise the department, strengthen compliance, and support the organisation through a period of transition.

This role is initially for 3 Months but could last longer and the successful candidate will be considered for a permanent position.
