A respected Edinburgh practice is looking for an Architect with 5+ years post‑qualification experience to join their growing team. The studio specialises in conservation-led projects, sensitive refurbishments, and high‑quality new‑build residential developments across Scotland. This role suits someone who enjoys balancing design ambition with technical rigour, and who can confidently work across all RIBA stages while contributing to a collaborative, friendly studio culture.
What you’ll be working on:
- Conservation projects involving listed buildings, heritage assets and sensitive refurbishments
- New‑build residential schemes ranging from bespoke homes to multi-unit developments
- Early-stage design, feasibility studies and planning submissions
- Detailed technical design, specifications and coordination with consultants
- Client liaison, design team leadership and occasional site visits
- Contributing to the practice’s design standards and quality output
What you’ll bring:
- Architect with 5+ years PQE and a strong portfolio of conservation and/or residential work
- Solid understanding of UK building regulations and technical detailing
- Experience working with listed buildings or traditional construction methods
- Strong design skills and the ability to communicate ideas clearly
- Proficiency in Revit or a willingness to develop BIM capability
- A proactive, organised approach and confidence managing your own workload
