A Dundee‑based architectural practice with a strong reputation for thoughtful, people‑centred design is looking to appoint a design‑focused Architect to join its growing team. With a pipeline dominated by social, affordable and mid‑market housing, this is an opportunity to shape communities through high‑quality, context‑driven residential architecture.

If you care about design integrity, placemaking and delivering homes that genuinely improve lives, this role gives you the platform to do your best work with clear long‑term progression built in.

A rare long‑term opportunity alongside a strong project pipeline, the practice is entering a period of planned succession over the next 3–5 years. For the right person, this creates:

  • Genuine promotion opportunities as the practice evolves
  • The potential for future equity/ownership involvement
  • A chance to help shape the next chapter of the studio

This is ideal for someone who wants more than just another job. Someone who wants influence, responsibility and a meaningful stake in the future.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and contributing to design development across RIBA Stages 2–4
  • Producing concept, planning and technical information for housing projects
  • Working closely with local authorities, housing associations and community stakeholders
  • Ensuring design quality is maintained through delivery
  • Supporting junior team members and contributing to studio culture

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Architect with strong design sensibility
  • Experience in housing, ideally social or affordable residential would help but is not essential.
  • Confident working through early design stages and presenting ideas clearly
  • Proficiency in Autocad and Revit (or willingness to upskill quickly)
  • Someone collaborative, thoughtful and passionate about creating better places

What’s on offer:

  • Competitive salary aligned to experience
  • Clear progression pathway linked to succession planning
  • Potential for equity in the medium term
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • A supportive, design‑driven environment where your work has visible impact

If you’re an Architect who wants to create meaningful, well‑crafted housing, and you’re excited by the idea of growing into a future leadership role then we’d love to hear from you.
