Planned Maintenance Officer

Social Housing Sector – Glasgow Part‑time | Approx. 3‑month Contract

About the Role

A Glasgow‑based Housing Association is seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to support the delivery of high‑quality planned maintenance across its property portfolio. This short‑term, part‑time role is ideal for someone who is confident managing contractors, coordinating works, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to an excellent standard.

You’ll play a key part in helping the organisation achieve value for money, maintain compliance, and uphold the quality of homes for tenants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee planned maintenance projects from instruction through to completion.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors, ensuring work is delivered on time and to specification.
  • Carry out quality checks, site visits and sign‑off inspections.
  • Monitor budgets, costs and variations to ensure value for money.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and updates for internal teams.
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors and colleagues to ensure smooth access and communication.
  • Ensure all works comply with health & safety standards, organisational policies and statutory requirements.

About You

  • Experience in a maintenance, property services or asset management role (housing sector experience highly desirable).
  • Strong understanding of planned maintenance processes and contractor management.
  • Confident overseeing multiple projects and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a part‑time workload effectively.
  • A proactive, customer‑focused approach with a commitment to improving homes and communities.
