An exciting opportunity to demonstrate and develop your event fundraising experience and make a difference to the lives of soldiers, veterans, and their families. You will be a key player in the delivery of our bespoke challenge event portfolio during a period of growth for the team and the charity.
The role has responsibility for delivering the Cateran Yomp event and line management of the Events Executive delivering the Frontline Walk series. Both are established products with a core audience and real potential for growth. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your project management and fundraising skills to ensure the events hit their recruitment goals, develop relationships with all the supporters to reach income targets, and ensure the logistics of the events are running smoothly.
The role will also support on the wider events portfolio and plays a vital role in raising £3.5 million as a whole across the Events and High Value Relationships team.
To excel in this role, you will need exceptional project management skills, experience in fundraising and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds. The ability to write and deliver multi-channel communication plans is a must, and you will enjoy picking up the phone and speaking to supporters and suppliers. You will be confident managing multi-faceted projects with a high level of organisation.
The Army Benevolent Fund is the Army's national charity, here for soldiers, for life. ABF funds housing, employability, mental wellbeing, family, elderly care, and independent living support for the Army family. Last year we supported over 80,000 soldiers, veterans and their families through this work, including by funding 93 delivery organisations.
The starting salary is £45,760. After a probationary period of 6 months the successful candidate will benefit from the Charity's full range of employment benefits including an income protection scheme and an employer contribution pension. There will also be opportunities to participate in key Charity events and activities with a TOIL scheme in place. This is a full-time post for 35 hours per week, based at the Charity's Office in London, Victoria. (The Charity currently operates a minimum of 2 days in the office).
