SAP Data Migration Specialist
Location: Newport, South Wales (On-site)
Contract Length: 9 Months
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Security Clearance: Active UK SC Clearance Required
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Specialist to support a large-scale SAP ECC6 migration programme within a leading organisation operating in a highly regulated environment.
This role will focus on the migration of business-critical data from legacy non-SAP systems into SAP ECC6. You will play a key part in the end-to-end migration lifecycle, working closely with business users, functional consultants, and project teams to ensure data quality and a successful deployment.
This is an on-site position based in Newport, South Wales, and candidates must hold active UK SC Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support data preparation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities
- Develop and maintain data migration plans, mapping specifications, and migration runbooks
- Work with business stakeholders to cleanse and prepare source data
- Create and maintain source-to-target mapping documentation and transformation rules
- Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading activities
- Develop and execute migration load programmes using tools such as LSMW
- Perform migration testing, dress rehearsals, and defect resolution
- Execute reconciliation activities to verify data accuracy and completeness
- Support cutover planning and production migration activities
- Provide post go-live and hypercare support
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering SAP data migration projects from non-SAP systems into SAP ECC6
- Strong understanding of SAP master and transactional data objects
- Hands-on experience with LSMW and migration load development
- Experience with data conversion, transformation, cleansing, and reconciliation
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data load failures and migration defects
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working alongside SAP functional consultants and business users
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable Skills
- SAP ECC6 Finance knowledge
- SAP ECC6 Logistics knowledge
- Experience working within regulated, defence, aerospace, manufacturing, or government environments
