We are looking to appoint an experienced tutor who will work within venues and homes local to Sevenoaks and/or Tonbridge, delivering tuition sessions outside of school hours. This could be on a one to one basis or in groups, up to 1:6.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • To deliver bespoke tuition based upon your subject with the aim of filling any perceived gaps in learning as identified by the school.
  • To work with students and/or small groups that have been allocated by the Principal Director.
  • Establish good working relationships with students
  • Responsible for working with small groups or individuals in outside of school setting
  • Provide engaging, targeted tuition that supports students achievement and progress
  • Provide informal adhoc feedback to parents / pupils if required.
  • Responsible for liaising with your Principal Director regarding attendance and engagement of pupils.
  • There is no expectation that you will assign homework etc. Your role is specifically tutoring.

Conexus Tuition requires all of our tutors to demonstrate an ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Must be able to travel to venues/homes around Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.

Rate of pay: £35 per hour

This role is advertised on a self employed basis, with the tutor providing tuition services to Conexus Tuition Sevenoaks and Tonbridge through a Consultant Agreement.

  • Pupil centred, engaging and high energy
  • Knowledgeable in the latest exam specifications and requirements
  • Confident in planning tuition sessions and delivering tuition.
  • Resilience to challenge with a variety of strategies for engaging reluctant learners.
  • Experienced teaching whole classes, small intervention groups or 1:1 tuition
  • Graduate of relevant subject eg English, Maths, Science, Humanities or MFL / or Primary education
  • Confident to differentiate to a broad range of pupil needs, abilities, and personalities.
  • Experience working with low ability students or those who present with SEN
  • Confident to manage any challenging behaviour and able to re-engage hard to reach learners.
  • Able to plan and effectively deliver all your own learning materials.
  • Proven track record of being able to raise student attainment.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
