We are seeking a Salaried GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking team at Chapelthorpe Medical Centre. The postholder will deliver high-quality, patient-centred primary care services within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
The role comprises a 4-session working week delivered across Monday and Wednesday, with two morning sessions (08:00‑13:00) and two afternoon sessions (13:00‑18:00). Morning clinics typically involve approximately 14 patient contacts per session (or around 12 for half-day sessions), with afternoon sessions involving around 11 patient contacts per session, combining face‑to‑face and telephone consultations. The postholder will also participate in daily clinical administration and results management, and will usually undertake up to two home visit requests per day depending on demand, alongside participation in the duty doctor rota and wider practice workload.
This includes providing routine and urgent GP care, managing acute and chronic conditions, undertaking clinical triage, reviewing results, and completing referrals and clinical administration.
You will work as part of a collaborative team committed to delivering safe, effective and accessible care to our patient population of approximately 13,800 patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver routine, urgent and emergency GP consultations via face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.
- Diagnose, manage and treat acute and chronic conditions.
- Undertake approximately 25 patient contacts per day.
- Participate in duty doctor sessions on a rota basis.
- Manage triage requests and undertake home visits when required.
- Review, action and follow up pathology and investigation results daily.
- Process referrals, prescriptions, reports and clinical correspondence in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate, high-quality patient records in line with clinical governance standards.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
Practice Overview
Chapelthorpe Medical Centre is an innovative, forward‑thinking training practice serving approximately 13,800 patients. The practice has 4 GP partners, 5 salaried GPs, an ACP and a skilled multidisciplinary team supported by PCN staff. The practice uses SystmOne, Ardens, askmyGP and Welby clinical systems. The team culture is supportive, friendly and sociable, with a low administrative workload thanks to dedicated administrative support. Home visit burden is reduced through ACPs, trainees and care‑home arrangements.
