An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated NHS leader to join our forward thinking and ambitious Primary Care Network in the key role of Business Manager. The PCN Business Manager is an integral part of the PCN's leadership team, working alongside the clinical directors, the PCN Board members and Member Practices to support the PCN in delivering its ambitions. The role holder will provide strategic and operational leadership, supporting the Clinical Directors in the delivery of PCN strategy, financial governance, and operational performance.
Main duties of the job:
- Operate with a high level of autonomy, exercising professional judgement to prioritise and manage a complex and competing workload through effective planning and organisation.
- Navigate ambiguous and highly complex situations where formal guidance may be limited or unavailable.
- Work strategically and collaboratively with a wide range of partners across their own and neighbouring Primary Care Networks, as well as with external stakeholders.
- Proactively build, cultivate, and sustain effective partnerships and professional networks.
- Have managerial responsibility for the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) staff and other staff engaged within the PCN, working with corporate services, in particular HR and finance, to ensure that Conexus policies and procedures relating to recruitment and selection, pay and reward, health, safety and welfare and performance review and management are followed.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous professional development, maintaining their own expertise while also taking responsibility for the training, development, and capability-building of others across the organisation and partnership landscape.
About us: West Wakefield Primary Care Network comprises five GP practices: Chapelthorpe Medical Centre, Lupset Health Centre, Middlestown Medical Centre, Orchard Croft Medical Centre and Ossett Surgery. Collectively, the practices and PCN serve a registered population of approximately 70,000 patients. The PCN is a central component of the developing West Wakefield Neighbourhood, working in collaboration with a wide range of health and social care stakeholders. These include the Acute Trust, Community and Mental Health providers, the Local Authority, and Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations. The PCN prioritises innovation and partnership-working and is passionate about delivering high quality services and reducing health inequalities for the community of West Wakefield.
