Conekt Legal is working with a fast-growing global technology company to recruit a senior commercial in-house lawyer on an initial 12-month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a fast growing global tech company who are currently going through a significant period of growth to include opening new international offices, developing into new sectors and also leading the way in AI projects.

Working as part of this large in-house legal team the senior in-house lawyer will get exposure to large, complex and interesting deals, work closely with the sales team and directly add to the revenue of this exciting and highly successful organisation.

Our client is a well-established global technology business, delivering enterprise software and large-scale digital solutions to customers across a range of regulated sectors. The in-house legal team is commercially embedded and highly regarded internally. This is not a function that sits at arm's length from the business. Working as part of this team you will be a genuine partner to the business and work with senior stakeholders across this organisation.

The Role

You will join a busy, commercially focused in-house legal team, taking ownership of a broad contracts portfolio and advising stakeholders across the business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, customer and supplier contracts, SaaS agreements, software licensing and professional services contracts.
  • Providing practical, commercially grounded advice to stakeholders across commercial, finance, delivery and leadership teams.
  • Supporting bid teams on contractual terms for tenders and proposals.
  • Identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risk across new ventures and ongoing operations.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory change, and recognising when to escalate.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of contract templates, processes and governance frameworks.

You will be!

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with about 8 + years PQE working within commercial law, we are also interested in senior contracts managers who might not be qualified but have extensive experience of negotiating and drafting complex contracts.
  • Strong track record drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, ideally within the technology sector.
  • Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Pragmatic, analytical and commercially minded, with the confidence to give clear advice under time pressure.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Genuine interest in technology and AI.
  • Experience with SaaS agreements.
  • Exposure to public sector contracting.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR and emerging digital regulation.
