We are partnering with a leading, top tier ranked Northern Ireland law firm to recruit a talented Healthcare Solicitor to join its highly regarded Healthcare team. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading team recognised by Chambers UK and widely respected for its depth of expertise, technical excellence and sector focus. This role would suit a solicitor with some previous medical/clinical negligence/healthcare experience, 3+ years PQE.

The Team

The Healthcare team is top tier ranked and works across a broad range of complex and high-profile healthcare matters, including:

  • Clinical Negligence Claims
  • Professional Negligence Claims
  • Regulatory Complaints and Investigations
  • Practice-Based Complaints
  • Coroner’s Inquests
  • Criminal Investigations and Clinical Crime
  • Internal Hospital Disciplinary Investigations
  • Public Inquiries

The team defends clinical negligence claims and covers professional regulation, acting for healthcare professionals, hospitals and insurers. They understand the unique pressures and high stakes involved in healthcare work, and are deeply committed to the sector. This focus allows them to operate at the cutting edge of a dynamic and evolving area of law, with a genuine appreciation of its legal and practical complexities.

The Role

You will work closely with experienced partners and senior solicitors on a varied and challenging caseload, gaining exposure to high-value litigation, regulatory defence and sensitive investigations. The role offers early responsibility, strong client contact and clear progression within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Candidate

You will ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in clinical negligence, healthcare litigation or professional regulatory work (defence experience desirable but not essential)
  • Strong technical ability and sound judgement
  • Excellent drafting and advocacy skills
  • A calm and measured approach to sensitive and high-pressure matters
  • A genuine interest in the healthcare sector
