Conekt Legal is working exclusively with a fast-paced, high-growth global tech company to recruit an experienced commercial lawyer to join a well-established and highly regarded in-house legal team. This role is ideal for a commercially minded solicitor who enjoys working closely with the business and providing practical legal guidance in a fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in supporting commercial activity across the organisation, advising on complex contractual arrangements and helping the business manage legal and commercial risk while achieving strategic objectives.

The Role
Working as part of a collaborative in-house legal function, you will act as a key legal advisor to internal stakeholders across a range of departments including commercial, finance and delivery teams. You will support the organisation in structuring and negotiating commercial agreements, ensuring contracts are aligned with both legal requirements and business priorities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising internal teams on legal and commercial issues arising from business activities and strategic initiatives
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts with customers, suppliers and partners
- Supporting bid and tender processes by advising on contractual terms and risk allocation
- Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to provide clear, pragmatic legal advice
- Identifying potential legal or commercial risks and helping develop practical solutions
- Keeping up to date with relevant legislation, regulatory developments and industry standards
- Assisting with the development and improvement of contract templates, policies and governance procedures
- Providing guidance and mentorship to more junior members of the legal team where required
About You
You will be a commercially aware lawyer who is comfortable working directly with business stakeholders and navigating complex commercial arrangements. To be considered, you should have:
- Qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister with at least 8 years’ post-qualification experience
- Strong background in commercial contracts, ideally within the technology or IT sector
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly
- The ability to balance legal risk with commercial priorities
- Strong relationship-building skills and experience working with senior stakeholders
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues within a team environment
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with UK public sector procurement and contracting frameworks
- Awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, the Procurement Act or emerging AI regulation
