Our client, a growing, international student accommodation provider with sites across the UK and Europe, is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Operative to join their team in Leicester. If you’re the kind of person who can fix a leak, build a flat-pack in no time, and spot a safety issue before anyone else, get in touch!
What you’ll be doing:
- Tackle day-to-day repairs (basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and simple electrical work)
- Respond quickly to maintenance tickets and keep on top of agreed SLAs
- Carry out regular inspections, flagging and fixing defects or safety issues
- Support with planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Liaise with contractors and external engineers
- Help with room moves, set-ups and furniture assembly
- Pitch in during site emergencies, including occasional out-of-hours support
- Always work in line with health & safety regulations
What skills you'll bring:
- Experience in maintenance, facilities or building services
- Solid all-round skills in general building maintenance (plumbing, painting, carpentry, etc.)
- A good understanding of health & safety and safe working practices
- The ability to prioritise, use your initiative and work well in a team
- Clear, friendly communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Relevant trade qualifications would be desirable (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ)
