We’re looking for an Editorial Assistant to join WIRED and support global editorial operations initiatives across all WIRED markets. This role will support content and production workflows, as well as budgeting and contract negotiations for the US and UK editorial teams. The role reports to the Director of Business Operations, WIRED.

What will you be doing?

  • Initiate and track new UK and US creative and editorial contracts.
  • Process UK and US commissions and content invoices.
  • Support global contract negotiations from an administrative and operational perspective.
  • Oversee local staff onboarding.
  • Onboard new contributors and vendors via CN Onboard.
  • Process invoices for vendors.
  • Respond to daily queries from contributors regarding ePayables, payment processes and account issues.
  • Support web production tasks as assigned.
  • Comfortable working with administrative processes such as contracts, invoicing and record-keeping.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Confident using tools such as Airtable and Google Workspace.
  • Reliable and methodical, with a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders, including editors, contributors and vendors.
  • Able to follow established processes while adapting to changing priorities.
  • A collaborative team player who is happy to support colleagues where needed.
  • An interest in media, journalism or editorial operations, with a willingness to develop within the role.
