Fluent in the world and ideas of WIRED, the ideal candidate will bring at least five years’ experience producing rigorously researched, thought-provoking content that delivers results.

In this role, you will work closely with our Director of Content, Consultants and external clients to drive thought-leading work from insight to execution—leading on research, commissioning, editing and production, and serving as a writer where required. We win because we care about pushing the boundaries of excellence and delivering work that is truly stand-out.

  • Working with external clients and internal project leads to understand client objectives and ensure narratives are crafted accordingly.
  • Researching, generating ideas, creating synopses, booking interviews, working with writers on drafts and editing copy, and shepherding projects through the production process.
  • Where required, writing content yourself.
  • Working with design teams and project leads to create design briefs that ensure that content is brought to life through appropriately scoped illustrations that support the narrative.
  • Supporting video storyboarding and script-writing.
  • Being ruthless about deadlines.
  • Having an unfailing focus on delivering excellent outputs that WIRED Consulting can be proud of and thinking creatively about how we can take these to the next level.
  • Continually building knowledge around ‘all things WIRED’ through reading, events and other knowledge-building activities. Helping us continue developing expertise and ensure we remain a centre of excellence across a range of key topics.
  • Distilling and sharing this knowledge with the team.
  • Building and quality assuring our external pool of trusted writers and editorial researchers.
  • Building our contributor networks and helping to engage them with WIRED Consulting projects and events.
  • Producing blogs and thought leading content for WIRED Consulting channels.
  • Drafting social copy.
  • Supporting new business efforts through building trusted relationships with our clients and forming a deep understanding of their businesses.

Proven track record of delivering excellent high quality content. 5+ years experience of producing high-quality, thought-provoking content that requires little editing and engages audiences. Experience of producing content that explores bigger-picture themes and trends that are relevant to businesses. Significant experience of the full gamut of editorial processes, from research and commissioning to editing and production. Track record of working well with writers and getting the best out of them. Plenty of experience helping long articles to become the best version of themselves. An outcomes-centric attitude: a tenacious problem solver with a knack for finding answers and making things happen. Energy, passion and enthusiasm for winning business and delivering on ambitious goals. A curious mind with an ability to think creatively. A mature, confident and credible demeanor. Excellent understanding of, and interest in, technology, business trends, global affairs and macroeconomics. Experience of working with senior stakeholders across projects. Excellent understanding of WIRED and the brand.

Undertake any other duties as reasonably required. Please submit your CV and cover letter, which highlights why you’d love to take on this role and why you’re a great match for what we’re looking for.
