Overview

In this role you will shape British GQ’s style coverage across print, digital, social and video by writing, commissioning and editing stories. You will collaborate with senior editors to cover menswear, luxury, watches and grooming, while developing new editorial franchises and driving audience growth. You will build relationships across fashion and luxury, represent British GQ at industry events, and work cross-functionally to deliver innovative, on-brand content. This position requires in-office presence Monday to Thursday and a strong editorial instinct.

Responsibilities

  • Write, commission and edit stories across style verticals (menswear, luxury, watches, grooming, jewellery)
  • Lead digital fashion news coverage and trend reporting
  • Develop original features and recurring editorial franchises linking style with culture
  • Contribute to watches coverage in digital and print
  • Plan coverage around key style tentpoles (Fashion Week, Watches & Wonders)
  • Collaborate with editorial, social, video, ecommerce, audience development and commercial teams to broaden reach and monetise content
  • Update evergreen content per SEO strategy and insights
  • Build relationships across fashion, luxury and watch industries
  • Represent British GQ at events and launches
  • Generate ideas for editorial packages, newsletters, and special projects
  • Support editorial initiatives like GQ Heroes, Men of the Year, Watches tentpoles
  • Be a flexible, collaborative team member

Key requirements

  • Significant editorial experience in fashion, luxury and style journalism
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling across digital, print, social and video
  • Strong understanding of menswear, luxury fashion, watches and style
  • Digital-first mindset with good editorial judgement
  • Experience with SEO best practices and digital publishing platforms
  • Experience with content management systems; proficiency with Airtable, Google Analytics and Parse.ly is advantageous
  • Strong industry contacts across fashion and luxury
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Collaborative, proactive approach and enthusiasm for developing original editorial ideas
