Vogue is seeking a strategic and creative Social Media Manager to join our team. Embedded within the British Vogue editorial team, this role partners closely with editors and writers to bring our storytelling to life across social, driving engagement, audience growth, and traffic to site. The Social Media Manager will help grow British Vogue’s loyal audience by increasing engagement, social referrals and overall reach across all platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and Pinterest. This is a highly collaborative role for someone that can combine strategy with hands-on execution in the fast-moving world of social media. We’re looking for someone with a sharp editorial instinct, an exceptional eye for visuals, and a deep understanding of social storytelling and the Vogue voice. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas to boost our digital presence, including ways to elevate British Vogue’s storytelling on social media. You thrive in a fast-paced publishing environment and are equally comfortable thinking big picture and diving into the details. You are enthusiastic about being a key part of an agile team that frequently works outside of office hours and on location.
Strong communication skills, sound judgement and a collaborative mindset are essential. You bring a proven track record of growing audiences and using data to inform strategy.
What will you be doing?
- Manage day-to-day publishing, optimisation, and performance across social platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and Pinterest.
- Work closely with editorial teams to maximise engagement and traffic for every story.
- Assist the Senior Manager with social strategy for key moments, including cover reveals, tentpole events (e.g. awards season), and major editorial franchises.
- Test, learn, and scale new ideas in partnership with Audience Development.
- Identify emerging social trends, platform updates, and audience behaviours to ensure British Vogue remains a leader in digital storytelling.
- Assist with managing social partnerships to optimise branded and revenue-driving content.
- Design and create visually compelling social media graphics, templates, and branded assets that align with British Vogue's visual identity and editorial standards.
- Collaborate with video teams to develop impactful social-first content.
- Create innovative content formats that resonate with evolving audiences, including Commerce formats.
- Confident working with talent, influencers and industry partners to maximise content performance and capturing content at events, red carpets and more.
- Experience capturing content during Fashion Month and on editorial photoshoots, producing and publishing timely and engaging editorial content.
Who you are:
- 3+ years’ experience in social media, ideally within a digital publisher.
- Strong editorial judgement and excellent writing skills.
- Proven success in visual and social storytelling that drives engagement.
- Experience with video editing and content creation, ie Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Experience with graphic design, including Photoshop and Canva.
- Experience with social media scheduling and data analytics tools, including Dash Hudson and Parse.ly is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of fashion and the luxury media landscape.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.
- Flexible and able to work outside standard hours when required.
