The Role
The Data Analyst is a key role in the European Consumer Revenue team. We are a recently formed department covering five markets (UK, Germany, Spain, France and Italy), focused on growing and building diversified consumer revenue streams (including print and digital subscriptions, newsstands, commerce, memberships and new direct-to-consumer opportunities). The customer is at the heart of everything we do, and we are passionate about delivering propositions that meet varied consumer needs. We are advocates of using data in decision making, with multivariate testing, customer insight and journey funnel analysis at the heart of a successful business. We are looking for two new Data Analysts (both new roles) and invite bright, dynamic candidates who want to contribute quickly and enjoy working within our growing team.
The Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring we accurately report on all revenue streams and to conduct analysis to provide insights and recommendations to support continuous optimization across KPIs. Your work will impact the business significantly and will cover areas such as acquisition, churn, conversion rates, average order size, clickstream data, consumer behaviour, multivariate testing, segmentation, and more. You will be at the forefront of transforming our Consumer Revenue business, supplying data and reporting that informs long-term strategy and short-term tactical opportunities.
To be successful, you must be commercial and numerate. You are likely to have operational experience in a B2C internet or eCommerce environment, though graduates with strong digital knowledge are welcome. You should have a good understanding of online marketing and a genuine interest in user journey experience. Ultimately, you should be passionate about data and believe in the principle: if you can’t measure it, you shouldn’t do it.
What will you be doing?
- You will create comprehensive dashboards by integrating data from multiple sources and share insight and commentary with key stakeholders.
- You will analyse performance and customer behaviour to deliver recommendations to improve online journeys, campaigns (online and offline), cross-sell activities, sales funnel analysis, customer satisfaction, and related metrics.
Who you are
- You are analytic, inquisitive and have a strong thirst for data.
- You are numerate and proficient in Excel; a degree in Maths, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field is common but not mandatory.
- Experience with analytical tools and systems (SQL, Python, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.) is beneficial but not essential.
- You can identify trends through data and communicate them clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- You have problem-solving skills and can explain trend analysis and complex data in a clear, concise manner.
- You are highly collaborative and successful when working as part of a team across the business.
