This role will support the core platforms and services that underpin identity, access, directory, collaboration and email security across a global user base of approximately 8,000 users across 12 markets.

The successful candidate will work closely with the MDS Team Manager and technical lead to deliver both day-to-day operational support and strategic project work across Active Directory, Entra ID, with some input into Okta, Google Workspace and related services. The role will be particularly important in strengthening the team’s UK/EU coverage, providing additional depth in Active Directory and Windows-related technologies, and contributing to ongoing work in identity governance, authentication modernisation, collaboration security and platform standardisation.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who is comfortable operating across both BAU support and project delivery in a complex, global enterprise environment. Condé Nast thrives on collaboration, and our teams come together in the office four days a week (Monday - Thursday). We value diversity of background, views and cultures. We celebrate people for their personal qualities, skills and contributions, recognising the power our brands have to influence and shape culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support Active Directory across multiple regional domains
  • Support Entra ID / hybrid identity integrations and related Microsoft platform dependencies
  • Create, review and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and take ownership of directory hygiene and security baseline alignment
  • Own and manage AD operations and cleanup, domain controller / DNS / DHCP-related changes where required, and broader Windows directory administration
  • Handle incidents, escalations, requests and changes across MDS-owned platforms
  • Work closely with global Ops, Server team, Security, EUC, and other partner teams to progress work effectively
  • Maintain high-quality communication, documentation and follow-through on operational issues
  • Help ensure service stability and continuity across a globally distributed environment
  • Contribute to key MDS projects across identity, governance, directory, collaboration and email security
  • Help design and implement improvements in authentication, lifecycle management, account hygiene, automation and platform governance
  • Support adoption of more modern engineering practices, including scripting, automation, and infrastructure-as-code where appropriate
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and documentation to reduce operational risk and improve team resilience
Required Experience / Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with Active Directory administration in an enterprise environment - 5 years minimum, preferably 10 years experience
  • Good working knowledge of Entra ID and O365 and hybrid identity concepts
  • Working knowledge of Okta administration, SSO, MFA and identity troubleshooting
  • Some exposure to Google Workspace administration in a business environment would be beneficial
  • Good understanding of user lifecycle, directory hygiene, access controls and privileged account management
  • Experience handling operational support, incidents, changes and stakeholder communication in a structured IT environment
  • Ability to work across both project delivery and BAU support
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills
What Success Looks Like
  • Getting up to speed quickly with the AD environment across the Conde estate
  • Becoming a trusted operational and project contributor across AD, O365, and to a less extent Okta, and Google Workspace
  • Strengthening UK/EU coverage and stakeholder engagement for the MDS team
  • Providing meaningful depth in AD / Windows / Entra-related work
  • Contributing to successful delivery of key 2026 priorities including authentication modernisation, identity governance, retention/compliance changes and collaboration platform improvements
