The Role
Reporting into the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of new product development project delivery across all clients and projects across the UK business.
What will I be delivering?
- Oversee all aspects of project quality assurance for new product development, qualification and delivery to defence clients.
- Define and implement quality assurance strategies and planning to client, internal R&D and industry requirements and standards.
- Support and enhance the business management system and continued compliance to AS9100.
- Support and drive improvement activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the organisation.
- Participate in project lifecycle reviews; including quality planning at bid, project mobilisation, requirements capture, design and test readiness reviews.
- Generate project quality related risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Lead non-conformance, defect management ensuring root causes and trends are addressed through robust corrective action.
- Prepare First Article Inspection reports in accordance with client requirements.
- Manage and participate in quality assurance activities, including internal, customer and partner reviews, inspections, and end item data management.
- Undertake audits in line with the company schedule, including supplier audits.
What do I need to bring with me?
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience.
- In-depth understanding of ISO9001 and/or AS9100.
- Working knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes, preferably in the electronics environment.
- Internal auditing expertise.
- Problem-solving methodologies and non-conformance management.
- Understanding engineering documentation and drawings.
- Inspection of electronic and mechanical assemblies.
- Experience in engineering change management.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
Technical skills and Qualifications
- Degree / HND / HNC in Quality Management or similar/equivalent discipline.
- Internal Auditing certification to ISO9001:2015, EN AS9100 or similar.
- Improvement focused. Six Sigma Green Belt is desirable.
- Knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.
- Concise planning, analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
