The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work on Linux Board Support Packages (BSPs). In the team we offer:

Based at either our Colchester or Theale site on a full-time and hybrid basis (and we’re flexible with what that looks like!).We have flexible working with core hours of 10am to 3pm – working 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Support, design, develop and maintain the software in one of the following areas:
- Board Support Packages for cutting edge Intel processor-based boards.
- Linux Kernel device drivers for cutting edge PCIe switches, FPGA resourced devices, third party driver integration
- Configure kernel video graphics
- User-space tools and utilities for device drivers created in-house.
- Performance optimisation for the software stack
- Developing test software
- Work with our hardware designers:
- During the design phase to specify the product
- During board bring up to get the prototype hardware working
- During the design proving phase to validate the product
- Work on challenging customer issues that get escalated to engineering team and providing holistic solution.
Most of the devices used are complex and an appreciation of the hardware is a pre-requisite for this role.
What do I need to bring with me?
Demonstrated knowledge and experience
- Expert in Linux Embedded C and experience of working with embedded build systems.
- Python, shell scripting.
- Exposure to low-level programming and hardware interfacing.
- Good appreciation of electronic hardware.
- Excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
- Enthusiastic Team player.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts, easily express ideas to the team and receive them as well.
- BEng or similar in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience developing low-level, embedded software for Linux or a similar operating system.
- Use of version control systems (like Git)
- Exposure to scrum and tools like Jira.
