The Role
We are looking for a motivated
Graduate PCB Design Engineer to join our PCB Design Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering graduate to develop specialist skills in high-speed printed circuit board design while working on leading-edge embedded computing products.
You will work alongside experienced PCB Designers, Signal Integrity Engineers and Hardware Design Engineers, gaining practical experience throughout the complete product development lifecycle.
What will I be delivering?
- Create and maintain PCB layouts for advanced embedded computing products
- Support the design and development of high-speed, multilayer PCBs
- Learn and apply best practices for Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) design
- Perform simulations and analysis using Ansys SI/PI tools
- Work closely with Hardware Engineers to understand circuit requirements and design constraints
- Participate in PCB design reviews and engineering discussions
- Support design verification, prototyping and manufacturing activities
- Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation
- Collaborate with mechanical, software and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product development
- Contribute to continuous improvement of PCB design processes and methodologies
What do I need to bring with me?
Essential knowledge & experience
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
- Understanding of electronic circuit fundamentals
- Knowledge of PCB design principles and electronic components
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn new technologies and engineering tools
- A methodical and detail-oriented approach to work
Desirable
- Exposure to PCB design software such as Cadence, Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics or similar EDA tools
- Understanding of high-speed digital electronics
- Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI or transmission line theory
- Experience gained through university projects, internships or placements
- Familiarity with embedded systems, microprocessors or FPGA-based designs
- Awareness of electronic manufacturing processes
