Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and hands-on Civil Engineer (R&D) to join our concrete technology team. You will lead and support concrete lab operations, including experimental design, materials testing, and integration of carbon capture technology into cement-based materials.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainability, applied research, and industrial impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and optimise concrete lab operations in compliance with R&D and safety standards
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate carbon capture utilisation (CCU) effects on concrete performance
- Oversee procurement and setup of lab equipment and infrastructure
- Collaborate with chemists, engineers, and partner institutions to deliver data-driven results
- Contribute to project planning, reporting, and cross-functional innovation
Candidate Profile
- PhD (or equivalent experience) in Civil Engineering, Material Science, or related field
- Proven track record in leading independent research projects
- Strong understanding of concrete mixing, casting, curing, and mechanical testing
- Experience in laboratory setup, equipment specification, and HSE compliance
- Excellent communication and team coordination skills
- Industry R&D experience in construction or materials science is highly desirable
