As the Head of Security, you will develop, implement, and maintain security measures to protect the blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, and organisation from emerging threats. You will work closely with the engineering, product, and compliance teams to ensure our platform remains resilient against security risks, vulnerabilities, and attacks. You will also need to engage with third-party suppliers and partners, such as exchanges, wallets, software houses, and projects that work closely with the blockchain protocol, to assess and advise from a security point of view.
- Security Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive security strategy for our blockchain network, infrastructure, and applications.
- Protocol & Network Security: Oversee and enhance security for consensus mechanisms, cryptographic algorithms, and network integrity.
- Threat Detection & Incident Response: Design and implement real-time monitoring, detection, and response frameworks to mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Smart Contract Security: Collaborate with developers to ensure best practices in smart contract design, conduct audits, and establish formal verification processes.
- Compliance & Regulatory Security: Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory, compliance, and security standards.
- Security Audits & Penetration Testing: Manage internal and external audits, penetration testing, and continuous security assessments.
- Blockchain & Web3 Security Trends: Stay updated with the latest security threats, attack vectors, and solutions in the blockchain industry.
- Incident Management & Crisis Response: Develop and oversee a structured approach for incident response, including forensic investigation and post-mortem analysis.
Build strong relations with engineers and heads, fostering a culture of security-first principles within the company.
Proven experience in cybersecurity. Deep understanding of blockchain protocols, consensus mechanisms, cryptographic principles, and smart contract security. Experience in handling security incidents, vulnerabilities, and attacks on networks. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, encryption standards, and best practices. Familiarity with security auditing tools and penetration testing methodologies for networks. Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly technical environment and make critical security decisions. Experience managing security teams and working cross-functionally with engineering. Experience with Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, or other Level 1 blockchain networks. Knowledge of zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), and other advanced blockchain security concerns. Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or blockchain security certifications.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate security risks, strategies, and best practices to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
