We wish to appoint a well-qualified, inspirational and dynamic Head of Mathematics on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. The role will offer the successful candidate a rare opportunity to lead one of the elite departments in the UK, working with some of the most promising young mathematicians in the world.
The successful candidate will have a high-quality degree in a Mathematics-related subject and must be capable of teaching Mathematics from GCSE through to A level. They will also need to be able to demonstrate the expertise and vision to lead and develop students and teachers alike as the department continues to evolve. A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the College is expected.
Set in 73 acres of beautiful countryside, Concord College is a highly academic independent international co-educational boarding school in England, with about 550 students aged 11-18. Historic buildings sit alongside our state-of-the-art facilities, which include areas providing extra-curricular activities, sport and recreation, with 2026 seeing the opening of a new sports hall and boarding house. With about 40 nationalities represented amongst our students, we enjoy a wonderfully diverse environment with a strong community feel and rigour, creativity and kindness at our core.
Academic achievement at Concord College is exceptional. During the last academic year, students achieved 87% 7-9 (A*/A) at GCSE and 95% A*-B at A level. We are also delighted that over 75 students have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge and over 150 students offered places at Imperial College London in the last five years.
We offer a generous remuneration package which includes a salary significantly above Main Scale, duty payments, complimentary lunch, participation in the Aviva Pension Trust for Independent Schools, private health insurance and reduced school fees (subject to your child being awarded a place at Concord College).
