A well-established audio visual company sells, installs and maintains a wide range of audio visual and conferencing solutions to mainly corporate and government clients throughout the UK and Europe.

Are you an experienced audio visual installation engineer looking to move into more of an organising and installation support role? If “yes” this could be the role you are looking for. We are now seeking an experienced audio visual engineer who has practical experience of installing commercial audio visual and conferencing systems to join our Project Management & Support team as a Project Engineer.

As a project engineer, you would work closely with the other members of our Project Management Support and Operations team to help deliver successful, trouble-free audio visual installations to our clients in mainly corporate and government sectors.

Primary Responsibilities and Main Duties:

  • Work with other members of the Project Support team as well as colleagues in the Sales and Operations teams to understand the installation requirements of clients’ projects.
  • Checking system design drawings and equipment lists in order to create installation sundries lists for the materials required by the engineers in order to complete the installations.
  • Support of Account and Project Managers both on site and in the office.
  • Carry out site surveys.
  • Attendance at on-site meetings, walk rounds and site handovers with both clients and main contractors.
  • Using Star Draw to produce system schematics, cable schedules, elevations and rack layouts (training on Star Draw will be provided if required).

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • The ability to organise, communicate and manage workload in accordance with project requirements.
  • The ability to problem solve and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Proven track record in the audio-visual engineering industry.
  • Experience of commercial audio-visual and videoconferencing systems including Teams, Zoom and Google Meet.
  • Strong PC skills including familiarity with Crestron Toolbox, Extron Global Configurator and audio DSP software programs like Biamp and QSC.
  • Knowledge of Crestron, Extron, Kramer switching and control systems as well as professional audio and camera solutions.
  • Understanding of Network terminology and topologies.
  • SSSTS, ECS or CSCS qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Ability to generate timely, concise and effective business correspondence.
  • Ability to read and comprehend project technical documents including, but not limited to, engineering and architectural drawings, schedules, test reports or commissioning documents.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to interact with customers and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail.
  • Be presentable and dress in company tops and T-shirts with respectable jeans/trousers and footwear.
  • Have the ability to successfully work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Be dependable, punctual and have an adaptable approach to work.
