Lead innovation, shape strategy and bring complex medical technology products to market. We’re looking for an experienced engineering leader to take ownership of the full product lifecycle — from concept and development through to launch, ongoing engineering support and end-of-life. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you’ll lead our R&D function, shape product strategy and ensure our product portfolio remains innovative, compliant and commercially successful.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the product development roadmap from early feasibility through to launch and ongoing lifecycle support.
  • Manage complex R&D projects, balancing technical excellence, regulatory compliance, timelines and budgets.
  • Provide strategic direction for engineering support, including product changes, reliability improvements and issue resolution.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing specialist R&D team.
  • Work closely with quality, operations, technical support and commercial teams to deliver products that meet customer and business needs.
  • Present project progress, technical decisions and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and the board.
  • Oversee external partners, consultants and suppliers to ensure quality, cost and delivery expectations are met.
  • Drive continuous improvement across development processes, tools, documentation and regulatory readiness.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong experience leading product development and engineering support in a complex electromechanical, mechatronic or similarly regulated environment.
  • A background in medical devices, capital equipment or another highly regulated sector would be highly advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of the full product lifecycle, from concept and development through to regulatory submission and volume production.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience, with knowledge of design, fabrication, assembly and engineering change processes.
  • Strong project delivery credentials, with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary programmes on time and within budget.
  • Commercial awareness and the confidence to make sound technical recommendations at senior level.
