We are hiring for the position of National Account Manager in the Durable Consumer Goods sector.
Location: Nationwide (Office base near Wakefield twice a week)
Travel: Regular nationwide travel
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced National Account Manager with a strong background in the indirect B2B market who is passionate about driving growth and leveraging data for informed commercial decisions. This role is ideal for a commercially focused, target-driven individual with a strong background in account management, business development, and negotiation. You’ll be responsible for building strategic partnerships and delivering joint business plans with a major account alongside identifying new nationwide account opportunities to convert.
The ideal candidate will excel at transforming insights into actionable strategies, possess a deep understanding of category performance, and have the ability to influence at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an existing national account while identifying new business opportunities
- Utilise data analysis and forecasting to enhance performance
- Develop strong, long-term client relationships at all levels
- Achieve sales, margin and performance targets
- Conduct category and pricing analysis to drive profitability
- Produce accurate sales forecasts and manage pipeline activity
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity
- Lead tenders, negotiations and commercial agreements
- Ensure excellent customer service and resolve issues effectively
- Maintain accurate sales reporting and CRM records
Requirements
- Proven experience as a National Account Manager / Key Account Manager
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a national accounts environment
- Background in domestic appliances, FMCG or consumer goods preferred
- Strong track record of driving sales growth and securing new business
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple accounts
- Commercially aware with strong analytical skills
- IT literate (Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems)

- Field-based role covering the UK
- Regular overnight stays required (1 or 2 a month)
- Full UK driving licence
