We are seeking an experienced Senior Multi-Site Estates Operations Manager to lead the delivery of safe, compliant and high-performing estates services across a complex multi-site NHS portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Estates, you will be responsible for the operational management of all estates functions, including planned and reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, contractor performance and people leadership across multiple technical disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-site estates operations covering buildings, engineering systems, plant and grounds
- Ensure full compliance with NHS, statutory and HSE requirements (HTMs, HBNs, CDM, asbestos, water safety, medical gases, HV / LV, ventilation)
- Act as Authorised / Responsible Person for relevant technical areas
- Manage in-house teams and external contractors
- Oversee operational budgets, performance and cost improvement
- Provide senior technical advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Support capital projects, risk management and business continuity
- Participate in senior estates on-call rota
About You
- Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or building services
- Proven senior estates management experience in healthcare or a complex operational environment
- Strong knowledge of estates compliance and legislation
- Experience managing large teams, budgets and contractors
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across sites
Desirable
- Professional body membership (IHEEM, CIBSE, IET, IMechE), NEBOSH / IOSH, project or management qualification, NHS experience
