Electrical Designer – Switchboards and Control Panels
Location: West Bromwich
Concept Resources are currently recruiting a detail-oriented Electrical Designer. You will be responsible for designing and developing electrical switchboards and control panels, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. The role involves creating detailed electrical drawings using CAD software and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design LV/MV switchboards, MCCs, and distribution boards.
- Create schematics, wiring diagrams, and GA drawings (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Specify components (circuit breakers, relays, transformers, etc.).
- Ensure designs meet IEC, UL, AS/NZS, NEC standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and builders.
- Interpret client specifications, load schedules, and diagrams.
- Support FAT, commissioning, and maintain revision control.
- Provide technical assistance to manufacturing and installation teams.
Requirements:
- Essential:
- 1+ years in switchboard/panel design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical/EPLAN
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and codes
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical documents
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Preferred:
- Experience with PLCs, control wiring, or automation
- Familiarity with switchboard manufacturing processes
- Project experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure sectors
Working Conditions: Office-based with occasional workshop/site visits. Standard hours with some overtime as needed.
