The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Control Systems Design Engineer to join a well-established and market-leading engineering business within the controls and automation sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, technically advanced environment, working on bespoke electrical control system designs and automation solutions.

The Role

As a Control Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical designs and supporting projects from concept through to commissioning. Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing schematic designs for client approval using Eplan and AutoCAD Electrical
  • Creating full supporting documentation for manufacture and client requirements
  • Liaising with clients and suppliers to deliver cost-effective and efficient designs
  • Ensuring all designs meet current legislation, safety standards, and best practice
  • Working with PLCs, HMIs, VSDs and intelligent control systems
  • Supporting site commissioning and providing technical support (internal and external)
  • Assisting with telemetry systems and network integration
  • Maintaining strong client relationships

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in a similar control systems or electrical design role
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, system integration, and panel design
  • Experience with SCADA, telemetry, and industrial networks
  • Understanding of VSDs and soft start technology
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards and compliance

Qualifications:

  • BTEC / ONC / HNC / Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
