We are seeking a skilled and motivated Reactive Fire & Security Engineer to join our team in Carlisle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing fire and security systems, with a focus on delivering high-quality service to our clients. This role involves responding to reactive maintenance calls, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs on various fire and security systems, including alarms, CCTV, access control, and fire detection equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to reactive maintenance and service calls across the Carlisle area, ensuring quick and effective resolution of issues.
  • Diagnose faults on fire and security systems, including intruder alarms, CCTV, fire alarms, and access control systems, and carry out repairs as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fire and security equipment to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service, liaising with clients to offer solutions and advice on system maintenance and improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including parts used and time taken, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines while working on-site.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota, providing emergency support to clients as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer, particularly in a reactive maintenance role.
  • Good knowledge of fire and security systems, including alarms, CCTV, access control, and fire detection.
  • Relevant qualifications in electrical or fire and security engineering (e.g., FIA, BAFE, or equivalent).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and repair faults.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with various manufacturers' fire and security systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., BS5839, BS6266, etc.).
