We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a major Central Government organisation operating in a secure technology and operations environment. This role sits within a requirements management capability and works closely with technology, infrastructure and operational teams to deliver secure, compliant solutions. The Senior Business Analyst will lead requirements elicitation and analysis, support discovery and change initiatives, facilitate workshops, and ensure strong alignment between business needs and technical delivery across complex programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation and validation
- Support discovery activities, impact assessments and process improvement initiatives
- Facilitate stakeholder and decision-making workshops across multiple seniority levels
- Analyse data, apply appropriate modelling techniques and recommend viable options
- Produce and maintain high-quality documentation to support delivery, benefits realisation and operational readiness
- Provide business assurance across the full project and change lifecycle
- Support complex technology, IT infrastructure and operational change
- Act as a trusted consultant on technical aspects of portfolios and projects
- Ensure continued alignment with business strategy, objectives and scope
- Deliver effective knowledge and skills transfer throughout the contract
Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant experience as a Senior Business Analyst in central government or secure delivery environments
- Experience supporting technology and IT infrastructure delivery within large-scale programmes
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including external client interaction
- Proven experience applying BA tools and techniques across the full delivery lifecycle
- Confident workshop facilitation, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- BCS/ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis or CBAP/CCBA (essential)
- Active SC clearance (mandatory)
Desirable Skills & Certifications
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- ITIL Foundation
- Agile Foundation certification
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. BCS)
- Experience across a broad business or customer product portfolio
Mandatory qualifications will be verified. Candidates must not have undertaken a same or similar contractor role within the last 6 months for the same organisation. Contractors are expected to provide skills and knowledge transfer throughout the engagement.
