Job Description

Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 2:00pm

20 hours per week

Temporary with a possible Temp-to-Perm opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a School Catering Assistant to work within a busy primary school in Westergate, Chichester, PO20 .

This is a Monday-to-Friday position working during the school day and would suit someone with previous catering, kitchen or school-meals experience.

Duties

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of school meals
  
• Preparing food and refreshments
  
• Setting up the dining and service areas
  
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy lunch periods
  
• Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment
  
• Cleaning work surfaces, dining areas and kitchen areas
  
• Following food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures
  
• Providing a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff
  

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS – ideally already held/current
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate – essential
• Previous catering or kitchen experience preferred
• Reliable and able to commit to Monday-to-Friday working
• Comfortable working within a school environment
• Good understanding of hygiene and food safety standards

Monday to Friday: 10:00am – 2:00pm

20 hours per week

Pay

£13.50 per hour

This is initially a temporary position with a possible opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
