Concept Resources are currently recruiting for an experienced Tree Team Leader to work within a local authority environment in Walsall.
This is a hands-on operational and supervisory role, leading a team of qualified Arborists responsible for maintaining the borough's tree inventory.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring arboricultural work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard, with a strong focus on quality, best practice and the long-term management of trees.
Duties
- Leading and supervising a team of qualified Arborists
- Carrying out operational arboricultural and tree maintenance work
- Organising and coordinating the team's daily workload
- Ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with industry best practice
- Maintaining the borough's tree inventory to the required standards
- Ensuring appropriate risk assessments and safe systems of work are followed
- Monitoring the quality of work completed by the team
- Promoting a quality-focused approach to tree maintenance rather than simply volume of work
- Considering the long-term health and maintenance requirements of trees
- Ensuring tools, machinery and equipment are operated safely
- Monitoring employee attendance and performance
- Reporting absence, poor performance and other staffing issues to line management
- Identifying and reporting health and safety concerns or non-compliance
- Ensuring the team operates in accordance with Council policies and procedures
- Supporting the delivery of an efficient and value-for-money arboricultural service
