The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for planning, executing, and closing projects. They define the project, build a comprehensive work plan, and then manage to the budget. The core function will be to collaborate with other functions within the business to implement new projects that are aligned to the company's growth expectations. Project Managers can demonstrate that they embrace our company core values, have a can-do attitude and are dedicated to the timely completion of their work. They undertake tasks whilst ensuring that high standards of safety, quality and efficiency are consistently maintained. Project Managers are required to hold an in-depth understanding of our production processes and a willingness to get involved in SQCPD continuous improvement projects and processes, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Appropriate experience in a high pressure, rapidly changing manufacturing environment is considered significantly more important than paper qualifications. Specific leadership and objective setting would, however, be considered an advantage.
- Essential:
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Excellent competency levels in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrable Project Management experience within a Mechanical and/or Electrical Manufacturing environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, of varying complexity levels, and at various maturity stages.
- Formal Project Management qualification.
- Product knowledge in Electrical Control Cabinets and/or Electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Competency in Microsoft SharePoint.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communication:
- Constructing and adhering to project plan.
- Good understanding of a number of project management software tools.
- The ability to construct project plans with multiple variables.
- Be assertive with other functions whilst demonstrating a professional approach.
- Attend morning SQCDP meetings and further daily communication meetings as a member of the team to ensure their understanding of targets and objectives.
- Build and maintain direct relationships with colleagues and customers, providing clear communication on all aspects of day-to-day operations.
- Escalate relevant issues by promptly bringing them to the attention of the Engineering Manager.
- Collaborate with the H&S officer and the leadership team to reduce risks in the area by following risk assessments and work instructions.
- Ensuring they are working safely and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Comply with all safety controls in the area.
- Report accidents, near misses and safety concerns to a member of the leadership team in a timely manner.
- Ensure that projects adhere to customer expectations, provide clear accurate responses to Customer Concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Report any quality concerns to their line manager and actively seek to improve quality whilst carrying out their duties.
- Comply with Company quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with project key milestones, targets and objectives.
- Meet project deadlines in an efficient manner, 100% efficiency with an improving trend.
- Constantly strive for productivity gains through VA activity and removal of 8 wastes.
- Manage allocated budget to support the company's objectives.
- Work closely with other support functions to deliver the company's objectives.
- Collaborate with the NPI function to deliver exceptional internal customer service.
- Accountable for the project plan.
- Providing accurate project progress on a weekly basis.
- Utilizing capacity efficiently and effectively.
- Monitors and executes project plan.
- Advocate for the customer and uphold the promised delivery date.
- Keep customers and systems fully updated on any delays and expected planned dates.
- Coordinate with leadership and other departments to address exceptions.
- Engage with our 'Switched On' Rewarding and Recognition process.
- Follow and uphold Company policies and procedures.
- Engage with other team members to optimize workgroup efficiency.
- Maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality.
