Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and professional Cleaning Operative to provide holiday cover within a secure banking environment in Morpeth, Northumberland. This is a short-term temporary assignment offering flexible working hours and an excellent rate of pay. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation while working independently and adhering to all site security procedures.

Working Hours

The role consists of 1.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday (7.5 hours per week). Start times can be flexible and arranged within the following windows:

  • Morning: Between 5:00am and 8:00am
  • Evening: Between 5:00pm and 11:59pm

Final working hours will be agreed with the site management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out general cleaning duties throughout the banking premises
  • Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floor areas
  • Cleaning desks, workstations and high-touch surfaces
  • Cleaning kitchens, welfare facilities and communal areas
  • Cleaning washrooms and replenishing consumables
  • Emptying waste bins and disposing of waste appropriately
  • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Reporting maintenance issues and health and safety concerns
  • Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Comfortable working alone within a secure environment
  • Must be willing to act as a key holder and operate alarm systems where required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual and professional approach
  • Right to work in the UK

  • Successful candidates must be comfortable using a telephone-based time and attendance system
