Concept Recruitment is recruiting for a Fitter to assist the Site Engineer in the maintenance and upkeep of depot equipment used across multiple rail sites. This is a hands-on, mechanical role with some basic electrical work, involving travel to key locations. Ideal candidates will have mechanical experience, a strong safety mindset, and be happy to work across different sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carriage Wash Systems (Depot equipment for washing trains):
- Replace gearboxes, motors, bearings, couplings, and pumps
- Repair and maintain pipework
- Re-brush machines on site and carry out setup works at the Sheffield base
- Perform monthly maintenance visits
- Controlled Emission Toilets (Depot equipment for emptying train toilets):
- Conduct monthly maintenance visits
- Clear blockages and service pumps
- Repair/install pipework, valves, sensors, and related components
- General Duties:
- Basic electrical tasks, including wiring gearboxes, replacing switches, and simple fault finding
- Adhere to all safety procedures; all PPE supplied
- Travel between sites as required

- Proven mechanical experience in maintenance or engineering
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
