The Transport Co-ordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the safe, efficient and effective running of transport and shunting operations during the night shift.

Working hours: 10:00pm - 6:00am

The role involves managing trailer movements, monitoring vehicle locations and ensuring trailers, vehicles and resources are positioned correctly to support warehouse and production activities without disruption. Working closely with site teams, the Transport Co-ordinator will plan and prioritise shunting activities throughout the shift, ensuring operational requirements are met while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Duties

  • Coordinate daily transport and shunting activities during the night shift (10:00pm - 6:00am).
  • Plan and prioritise trailer movements to ensure trailers are positioned correctly and available when required.
  • Monitor trailer locations and vehicle movements across the site.
  • Ensure sufficient availability of empty trailers to support operational requirements.
  • Work closely with warehouse and production teams to prevent delays caused by poor trailer management or resource allocation.
  • Support and coordinate the on-site shunting team to ensure activities are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain awareness of operational priorities throughout the shift and respond to changing requirements.
  • Complete transport administration and operational records as required.
  • Ensure all transport activities are carried out in line with site health and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in transport, logistics, yard operations or shunting environments.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions during a night shift.
  • Good communication skills with drivers, warehouse teams and site management.
  • Experience with trailer movements or yard management is highly desirable.
