Shift Engineers £40k+ per annum, plus benefits

6am-2pm/2pm-10pm weekly rotating shifts, Monday to Friday

Concept Recruitment are delighted to be working with our Featherstone based food production client to recruit a Shift Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. Supporting operations in reducing and eliminating downtime, this role involves proactive and reactive maintenance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance on production equipment
  • Identifying and resolving any potential issues before they cause any failures
  • Responding rapidly to machinery breakdowns, diagnosing the problems and performing repairs
  • Carrying out machine adjustments and size changes
  • Monitoring and calibrating equipment to ensure accuracy, quality and safe standards are met
  • Keeping accurate records of maintenance i.e. PPM schedules, shift reporting, etc.
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Involved in project work from time to time

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Mechanical/Electrical NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent ONC)
  • BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
  • 17th edition wiring regulations would be an advantage but not essential
  • Experience with maintaining packing equipment would be an advantage i.e. pneumatics, horizontal flow packers, vertical form fill baggers, caution erectors, multi-heads, gluing systems, metal detectors/check weighers, x-ray, and various bespoke hand packing/labelling lines
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in the FMCG industry
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery including baggers, multi-heads, conveyors, and packaging equipment
  • Proactive approach to maintenance
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to make on the spot decisions
